Free SSL is included by default with all eligible Web Host Pro hosting accounts and works for nearly all standard websites. In most cases, your SSL certificate is automatically installed and renewed through cPanel at no extra cost.
We provide basic free cPanel SSL certificates for website builder accounts, web hosting, reseller hosting, cPanel-based VPS plans, and cPanel-based dedicated servers.
To issue a free SSL certificate, the SSL certificate authority must be able to verify your domain. For the smoothest setup, your domain should use Web Host Pro name servers and should not have hard redirects, proxy services, or third-party firewall filtering enabled during the SSL verification process.
Services such as Cloudflare and similar third-party proxy, firewall, or filtering systems can block the domain validation process required to issue the free SSL. If you use one of these services, you may need to temporarily switch to our name servers until the SSL certificate is active. Once the SSL is working, you can move back to a third-party firewall or proxy if preferred.
Please note that free SSL certificates must also be revalidated during renewal. If your domain settings, redirects, proxy, or firewall block validation at renewal time, you may need to temporarily return to the default Web Host Pro DNS setup.
For customers who need more flexibility, paid SSL certificates are also available directly inside cPanel, or you may use a third-party SSL provider. Paid SSL options are better suited for websites using custom name servers, hard redirects, advanced security requirements, or proxy services such as Cloudflare.
