Tips for a better self-tanning:

Exfoliate: Before applying self-tanner, exfoliate your skin to remove any dead skin cells. This will create a smooth surface for the tanner to adhere to and help prevent streaks and patches.

Moisturize dry areas: Pay extra attention to dry areas such as elbows, knees, ankles, and feet. Apply a lightweight moisturizer to these areas before applying self-tanner to avoid excessive absorption and darkening. Choose the right shade: Select a self-tanner shade that matches your natural skin tone for a more realistic result. If you're new to self-tanning, start with a lighter shade and gradually build up to a darker tone. Use a tanning mitt or gloves: To achieve a more even application and avoid staining your hands, use a tanning mitt or disposable gloves. This will help distribute the self-tanner smoothly and prevent streaks.

Apply in sections: Divide your body into sections (e.g., legs, arms, torso) and apply the self-tanner one section at a time. Start from the bottom and work your way up to ensure you don't smudge or transfer the product.

Blend thoroughly: Blend the self-tanner thoroughly into your skin using long, sweeping motions. Be extra careful around joints and hard-to-reach areas to achieve a seamless application.

Go easy on the face: For the face, mix your self-tanner with a bit of moisturizer to create a more natural and subtle result. Apply it sparingly, avoiding the eye area, and blend it well into your neck and hairline for a seamless look.

Be patient with drying time: Allow the self-tanner to dry completely before dressing or coming into contact with water. Follow the product instructions for the recommended drying time, as it can vary depending on the formula.

Maintain your tan: Moisturize your skin daily to maintain your self-tanner and extend its longevity. Avoid exfoliating or using harsh cleansers, as they can cause your tan to fade more quickly.

Remove and start fresh: When you're ready to remove the self-tanner and start fresh, exfoliate your skin again. You can also use self-tanner removers or products with exfoliating properties to help speed up the process.

Remember, practice makes perfect with self-tanning. It may take a few tries to find the right technique and product that works best for you.
